Who We are ?

Bhutan Takin Trails has been guiding travelers for the past 16 years.  Haven’t heard of us?  It’s only recently that we have extended our presence to the United States. First and foremost we comprise of experienced Bhutanese guides (licensed tour operator and members of the Association of Bhutanese Tour Operators) in all offered trip options, hiking, horseback riding, and kayaking, mountain biking, fly fishing.  All staff is extensively trained in our shared values and mission with the utmost attention put on client safety and expectations.  Due to local presence Bhutan Takin Trails has relationships with an extensive number of other local businesses and organizations; hotels, restaurants, travel services, Bhutan government, and environmental organizations.  This gives us the opportunity to offer our clients extensive travel options and quite possibly the best Bhutan has to offer. Bhutan Takin Trails has also recently opened the the Raven Inn with 22 spacious rooms in the heart of Thimphu town and caters exclusively to our esteemed guests.

Vision

Bhutan Takin Trails’long-term goal is to become the premier travel supplier and advisor of unique travel experiences. Our focus is on providing excellence to our clients while maintaining a consideration for a project’s environmental and social impact. Evidence of the negative impact of global travel can be seen throughout the world and Bhutan Takin Trails will not offer any package or work in cooperation with any group that doesn’t share our vision for a healthy and balanced Earth.  We take pride in our service to our customers and in our uncompromising business values.

Staff / Bios

Kinlay Gyaltshen is a descendent of the famous Wang Clan of Bhutan.  He has 16 years experience in travel industry, is a certified & licensed guide of the Bhutan Department of Tourism and has 6 years experience in management of Bhutan tours with premier US based travel service firms. He is also an Active member and supporter of RSPN (Royal Society for the Protection of Nature).
Ugen Pelden handles all the office paper works and accounts. In her spare time, she loves to cook and often receives the guests of Bhutan Takin Trail for a special home cooked Bhutanese meal.

Mr. Phuntsho is native of eastern Bhutan, he has several years experience in ticketing and procurement.  He is the man behind your Druk Air tickets.
 
Mr. Kinga Tenzin has an engaging personality and commitment to professional guiding.  He enjoys sharing his knowledge of Bhutan’s rich natural history, ecology, wildlife and culture with guests on our tours.

Mr. Tshering Tashi grew up in central Bhutan and is a licensed guide from the Bhutan Department of Tourism.  He speaks fluent English , loves western music, and has a sense of humour which he shares with the guests.

Mr. Aku Yonten is an experienced driver and will be your personal chauffer when you travel in Bhutan in a small group.

Mr. Dorji Wangchuk, Mr. Ugyen, Mr. Kinlay is a team of dedicated chefs, trained and licensed cooks, they are able to rustle up a delicious meal on top of a mountain while on your treks.

Mr. Lotay is the personal valet and assistant during long walks in the mountains.He is very honest, simple and reliable and entirely dedicated to ensuring your comfort and safety at all times while on a trek.
