Testimonies

In the fall of 2006, my husband and I were lucky enough to be last-minute additions to a small group set to go on the Jhulamari trek in Bhutan. Kinlay Geltsen was the designated guide. From the moment we connected with Kinlay by email to the moment we said goodbye, he was nothing but organized, efficient, articulate and knowledgeable about all aspects of our phenomenal trek. He met us personally in Bangkok and made us feel welcomed and provided for. In Bhutan, he set us up with a superb driver and guide for the four days we were there, before the rest of our group arrived.

Kinlay’s knowledge of history, religion and culture enhanced every moment of our trek. His great respect for the customs and beauty of his native land inspired and informed us every step of the way.

The team that took care of us for nine days, in the remote mountains, was first-class. The food was delicious---from the wake-up tea, to snacks along the way, to yummy lunches next to roaring, mountain streams, to suppers in the dining tent after nightfall. The various camps were swiftly and efficiently laid out each night and packed up each morning.

Kinlay’s energy and enthusiasm is infectious, but at the same time, he has a huge respect for the terrain through which he led us and would never take chances on health and safety issues. He is a distinguished leader and teacher whom I recommend, without hesitation. He gave us an experience that we will always treasure---and, hopefully, repeat.
